On May 15th, Westfield White decisively beat Ridge Black by the final score of 16-1. The game was blown open in the top of the first inning, when Westfield White put up 10 runs. The inning included RBI singles from Graham and Grayson. The parade of runs continued with a 5-run third inning, which included a 2-RBI single from Niko and an RBI double from Liam.

The offensive onslaught was also supported by strong efforts on the mound from Graham and Liam. Grham earned the victory by scattering three hits over two innings with no walks. Liam came on for the third, and had a scoreless inning on eleven pitches.

Most impressively, Westfield White’s defensive capabilities were on full display as the team made highlight play after highlight play. Liam and Niko turned a nifty double play on a line drive in the third, and Troy made an acrobatic catch at first base to save a run in the second inning. The play of the game, however, went to Nico who cut off a bouncing ball while playing third base and fired a strike to first base to nip the runner to end the ballgame!

The game MVP was awarded to Graham for his stellar effort on the mound and at the plate. The Heart and Hustle Award went to Niko for his great defensive plays as well as coming through with a timely hit at the plate.
